Crescent rolls

120 ml/ 1/2 cup warm milk
1/2 cup + 2 tbls warm water
1 beaten egg
50 gm/ 1/4 cup castor sugar
500 gm/ 3 & 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp instant yeast
110 gm/ 1 small packet melted butter
Za'atar or cheese
Extra butter

Blend first 6 ingredients together
Sprinkle instant yeast over half the flour
Mix in
Pour in liquid mixture and mix together till it comes together
Now add remaining flour and knead into a soft dough
Knead for at least 8 to 10 minutes
Place in greased bowl and let it rise, covered, for at least an hour, or until doubled
Divide dough in half. Leave the rest covered.
Roll out the other half to a large round
Brush over with the melted butter
Cut the 'roti' into quarters, then eighths
Place some za'atar or cheese in the middle, on the thickest part
Roll up from the broad side, firmly, to the top, ending with the pointed edge
Place pointed side on the baking tray
Brush over some extra butter and cover, leave to rise
Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes - or until golden below and above
Remove from oven, brush lightly with butter.
Serve with coffee or tea :)
