Rice with Lentils

Ingredients

50 grams split green gram
50 grams masoor gram
200 gram rice
1 medium onion
2 tomatoes
3 cinnamon stick
3-4 bay leaves
4-5 green chilies
6 cloves finely chopped garlic
1/4 oil
1 medium piece of ginger
1 tbsp turmeric
1 tbsp red chili powder
Water as required
Salt to taste


Method
Firstly cut 1 onion into slices to fry in already heated 1/4 cup oil until they are golden brown. When onion has changed its color, add 2 cloves of finely chopped garlic in it. When garlic color change, add 2 tomatoes and 4 - 5 green chilies and cook it for 2 to 3 minute. Include already soaked 50 gram split green gram and 50 grams masoor gram in it with a glass of water. Also add 3-4 bay leaves cardamoms and 3 cinnamon sticks in it and cook it on low flames with close lid. When grams are at its boiling point and are well cooked, add more water and include 200 gram rice, 4 - 5 cardamoms, 1 medium piece of ginger, 1 tbsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp red chilies and salt to taste and allow cooking on low flames. When the level of rice has rise, mix everything together properly and allow simmering for 8 to 10 minutes. Delicious Rice with Lentils is ready to serve.
